Next I passed back your first homework assignment and your Friendly Letter. I further discussed how I grade and some of my shorthand remarks that I use to grade your papers with. If you ever have questions as to the comments that I put on your papers, PLEASE SEE ME! I am more than happy to explain them to you!

TUESDAY September 4
Today you received your textbook! We discussed understanding sentences beginning on page 374.
I also checked to make sure you did your homework. I looked for a signature on your draft from someone who read your work at home.
Classwork/Homework:
You had plenty of time to begin the bookwork in class. In case you didn't finish it though, it is now homework. Page 374 #1-15, Page 377 #1-15 and #16, 20. Each part requires answers only.
The other part of your homework is to finish your friendly letter. The final copy is due tomorrow WITH THE RUBRIC! You need to copy the rubric below, paste it in a word document, and hand it in along with your Final Draft (typed, of course!)
___/20 gives clear details for all the paragraphs given in the directions
___/20 clearly edited (grammar/mechanics)
___/5 includes rubric attached to the BACK
___/10 includes all 5 parts of the Friendly Letter
____/55 TOTAL POINTS
